Fighting Hyperpigmentation: Beauty Tricks from the Doctor

How to Avoid Melasma & Hyperpigmentation in the Summer

“Spring is here, and most of us will be spending more time outdoors. This makes us more prone to sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and melasma. In addition to wearing my SPF 44 BB Cream, there are practices and ingredients I incorporate into my daily regimen to protect myself from hyperpigmentation and melasma. Xx Dr. Lara.”

SPF 50 Concealer

If I know I’m going to be outside with my kids, I will use this specifically over areas of melasma, hyperpigmentation, and dark circles. This zinc and titanium based concealer is great for preventing darkening of these areas.

SPF 50 Dusting Powder

This loose mattifying powder is great to dust over the face before going outside. The zinc and titanium based powder blends beautifully into the skin while blurring imperfections.

Retinol+Bakuchiol Serum

I use this every evening to promote rapid cell turnover and skin resurfacing. Daily use promotes a healthy and radiant glow.
